What We Do

We will work in parellel with your designer to optimise your design for composite manufacture. This minimises delivery lead-time, and reduces re-design requirements, We willl ensure in-process quality containment. The finished part will be measured by CMM, surface scanned by laser and the laminate verified by CT scanning as required.

Our Services

Aztec always aim to provide our customer’s with the most advanced methods of Quality verification available. Our in-house CT scanning machine means we can study the laminate for porosity, cracks, de-lamination or any internal features and thicknesses. ISO9001-2015 accredited.

Our Facilities

Aztec Welding & Fabrications was established in 1984 as a specialist metal fabrication company. From 1989, carbon fibre composite components were also produced and demand grew rapidly. To meet this demand, Aztec Composites Ltd was formed in 1997 and with a continued increase in orders for composite parts, the company moved to new, larger, custom built premises on January 1st 2000.

In October 2006 Aztec Composites doubled it’s floor area to 13,000 square feet, allowing expansion of the in-house tool-room and laminating departments. November 2008 saw the investment of an ultrasonic cutting machine enabling complex shapes to be cut in tough materials such as zylon and kevlar. A new autoclave (1m diameter x 2m long) was commissioned in July 2009 and the Trim Shop and Quality departments were also expanded.

In September 2013 a new Fortus 400mc FDM rapid prototype machine was acquired with a 406x356x406mm build envelope to make ABS, Ultem and SR30 soluble core parts.
